TREES FOR BEES

TREES FOR BEES

This past weekend the Valorhood crew got their hands dirty. An opportunity presented itself to take part of 'Trees For Bees' planting at the Wilton Pollinator Pathway on Saturday in Connecticut and we were so excited to pitch in. The project focused on the planting of trees and plants that aid the bees in their pollination efforts along with the removal of invasive species that would hinder such efforts.

Trees planted included:
  • Little Leaf Linden
  • Red Maple
  • Hackberry
  • Pagoda Dogwood
Shrubs planted included:
  • Fothergilla- Flothergilla Mt Airy
  • Flowering Raspberry-Rubus odoratus
  • Shadblow- Amelanchier canadensis
We want to thank 'One Tree Planted' for allowing such events to take place.
We want to thank Liz, Louise, and Rick at Norwalk River Watershed for allowing us to be a part of such a wonderful experience. For sharing their knowledge and their love for the land.
And lastly we want to thank our customers for allowing us to continue to donate and help causes such as this!
At Valorhood we help plant one tree per order processed through 'One Tree Planted' and its a great feeling! Yet it's an incredible feeling to actually be physically part of that change. This was a big milestone for us and are so glad to have been a part of such a project within our first few months.
At Valorhood we are Bonded By Nature and proud to give back to the land from which we take.
